Young Lady's Body Discovered Stuffed in Abandoned Suitcase Behind San Diego Hotel


Police has began investigations to unravel how a woman's body ended up in an abandoned suitcase in  San Diego.
 
The woman's body was discovered  on the 7th of April, 2016, a woman's body stuffed inside a suitcase.




On Wednesday, San Diego police received a 911 call at around 11 a.m. after a body was found inside a suitcase behind a hotel. 
 
A man who lives at the hotel, and was taking out trash, found the body when he
noticed the suspicious looking suitcase next to some trashcans.


When he took a closer look, the man saw hair coming out of the suitcase and some exposed human body parts, Valentin tells PEOPLE.

The man told local media he believed homeless people had left the suitcase. However, upon further inspection he realized it contained a body. “I was trying to pick it up by the handle. I was amazed by the
weight so I dropped it and I kind of looked down and I saw hair, like black hair."

Police are waiting until they notify the victim's family before they release her identity. According to Valentin, the victim appears to be around the age of 21.

News reaching us now is that DiegoMore San Diego police have arrested Joshua Matthew Palmer, 33, on Friday for the murder of 21-year-old Shauna Haynes, Lt. Ray Valentin of the San Diego Police Department
tells PEOPLE. Palmer has been charged with one count of murder.

Local media reports the pair were dating, but Valentin says, "We have not confirmed they were dating." He said they worked together at a local restaurant.
The motive behind the murder is still under investigation, Valentin says.
